So for all cricket supporters out there, who saw the first test NZ Zimbabwe?
Brief summary
Match all over inside 2 days.
NZ made 452/9 on day 1 after being 113/5 just after lunch. Quite incredible really. Top order pretty much failed Batting on a road. Fleming played well for 73. McCullum spanked 111 off 112 balls. Vettori scored 127 off 98 balls, made his 100 off 82, 13th fastest test century ever. Bond in his come back came in and hit some of the most effortless sixes i've seen making 41no.
Then NZ set to work on day 2 dismissing Zimbabwe for 59 and 99 in a day. Wickets were shared around. Vettori became the third New Zealander to take 200 test wickets.

Quoting ZK-NBT (Reply 2): I think I read it was the second time?
Ah. You could be right. I don't know. We need Barfbag's encyclopaedic knowledge to tell us the answer.
Quoting ZK-NBT (Reply 2): Yeah perhaps gotta question their test status? Not that they will improve if you take it away.
That's true. But Zimbabwe's problems aren't the same as those of Bangladesh. Bangladesh will improve over the coming years because the playing base is large and the desire is there. They shouldn't have been given Test status when they were, but with them there's little point now in taking it away, we just have to wait for them to get better.
But Zimbabwean cricket is, like the country as a whole, falling apart.

My friends in NZ were telling me that the Black Caps tour of Zimbabwe was causing a great row. There were many calling for a sports boycott to protest the human rights violations going on in Zimbabwe. How was this resolved?

Right. This is the background.
Human rights abuses in Zimbabwe have meant that various tours to the country have been strongly opposed. England were scheduled to go there last year, and just about no-one wanted them to go. However, the ICC (cricket's governing body) will not allow moral considerations to be taken into account when deciding whether or not to go. If a government forbids the team to go, that's a different matter, but the British Government pointed out that whilst they would prefer them not to go, they had no power to stop them. The ECB, the English governing body also wanted to pull out, but the ICC then said that if they withdrew on moral grounds, they would be subject to a massive fine and a possible banning from international cricket. Whether the ICC would have had the balls to go through with that is another matter. So England went, albeit under protest.
Now, when it came to New Zealand's turn to go, exactly the same issues arose, and also exactly the same difficulty. The New Zealand government are equally powerless to compel the team to stay away, and thus New Zealand were also threatened with sanctions if they didn't fulfill their obligation to tour. What made that worse was that the England tour had set the precedent.
So New Zealand had to go, but weren't happy about it.
Now, New Zealand politicians did say that they did have the power to ban Zimbabwe from entering the country when Zimbabwe are next scheduled to go there. Not sure whether that was bluster or not though.

Yeah I'm not to sure what is going on with all that Political stuff surrounding the tour. And I agree i'm not sure if the NZ goverment said they would ban Zimbabwe from coming here just as a threat or what. They are due here in December this year.
