back to reality : you have to make a difference between the city of Mekkah and "Mekkah". The city of Mekkah just is an old city, and as the Sa'ud gents generally are cultural low-flyers they do NOT particularily care about cultural values. "Mekkah" is the pilgrimage-destination with the Grand-Mosque and the various places in question. Many pilgrims might even appreciate if some highrise buildings "produce" a bit of shadow.
The title above therefore is MUCH exaggerated. It just is the "destruction of some cultural values in the cities of Mekkah and Medinat, regrettable but not as tragic as indicated.
