What happened to the plan? It disappeared from Cunard's website. Is it still on?

Heard that it is a 80000-90000 tons ship

How is Cunard doing recently?

Project taken over by the BBC. Now an 80-90,000 brick setting for the popular soap opera "Eastenders"

It's still a go . . . the original plans were revised and the ship was made quite a bit larger than the original design. . . . the success of QM2 has caused Cunard to rethink Victoria's design.

Have a go at the site I posted earlier www.maritimematters.com and try a search . . . there is info regarding that redesign in there as well.

I see. What happened to Cunard's ship SAGAFJORD???? Is it still in service? Why did they sell/retire that ship?

Sagafjord was sold to Saga Holidays several years ago. It's sister ship, the Vistafjord, continued with Cunard until last October, as Caronia. It is now also with Saga Holidays as either Saga Rose or Saga Ruby - can't remember exactly. Both ships were built in the classic traditional way, and were a pleasure to sail on. The ships's crew also loved the ships, so that helped a lot!

So both ships are still in operation right?

Both ships are very nice and I think they used to go on world cruises

I guess this ship will be powered like all the other civil ones, by diesel. But the larger a ship gets, the more power it needs, so wouldn't it be possible to build a nuclear reactor on a ship this size? What would the largest problems be? Safety? Bad Publicity? Too expensive?...
