I wasn't listening during the brodcast but heard about it later. Stations had to scramble to fill dead air for 15 minutes.
From today's Richard Feder's column in the Chi SunTimes:
A mixup in ministers prompted ABC News Radio to issue an emergency order to 1,300 affiliates to kill Paul Harvey's news and commentary broadcast on Wednesday.
Harvey, 86, whose Chicago-based broadcasts routinely rank at or near the top of the most widely heard radio programs on the planet, meant to deliver a commentary on the controversy over Christian Broadcasting Network host Pat Robertson's call to assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
But after the 15-minute taped broadcast already had been fed to affiliates for airing, sources said, it was discovered that Harvey had mistakenly referred to the Rev. Jerry Falwell, another prominent Christian minister, instead.
ABC immediately sent out an urgent "mandatory kill" order and re-fed affiliates a corrected version. It is not known whether the first version aired anywhere.
Eternal darkness we all should dread. It's hard to party when you're dead.

You mean there is something in the Paul Harvey show other than him schilling for the drill doctor, The Bose Wave Radion, The Sleep Number bed, that fuel stabilizer thing, and Husqvarna (sp) chainsaws?
