A mother and her two children have been killed after apparently jumping in front of a Heathrow Express train travelling at up to 100mph.
The woman, 27, and a five-year-old girl died immediately after jumping from a platform at Southall, west London.

A nine-month-old boy died later at Ealing Hospital from multiple injuries.

That is just awful! Unfortunately it seems that is becoming more common these days, people trying to take out a whole family. There have been many stories of a family going through a divorce and either the mother or father kills the children and his or herself just so the other one will not have them. I could not imagine even thinking of that.

I knew someone who's mother planned to kill him, his brother and herself to show her husband what a bad person he was for leaving her. She didn't go through with it, but what selfish immature ass she was. Also, is it worse that she was planning on it or that she told her kids? It's also incredibly cruel to involve innocent bystanders in your suicide.

Not only am i feeling sorry for the kids, but the driver as well. Must be so traumatic to know that you've hit somebody, whether it was their fault or not.

Also it says that this train was carrying 80 passengerrs towards Heathrow, and they were on the train for 3 hours. So thats 80 (except the few workers etc) people who completely missed their flights. Also the line was closed for 4 and a half hours after that so many others would have missed flights too.

If you look at the national rail website reguarly, you can see that these things almost occur every day. I feel for those affected by this incident. But we need to establish the motive for why they did this before we come to any conclusions.

Let me get this straight - a woman jumps in front of a speeding train WITH HER KIDS, taking her life AND theirs in the process - and you think we need to establish her motive before coming to a conclusion?

It's sick, it's sad, and it's wrong - and I didn't have to wait for her "motive" to be determined before coming to that conclusion.  talktothehand

The woman is selfish, not to give those poor kids a chance in life. If I was that desperate, I would make sure those children had a decent start in life with someone else and not to rob them of a life too, after all, they are the innocent ones in this.

Very sad story. I had a few calls from passengers on that train at work.
Every one of them missed there flts. Not happy also the train conductor told em we were holding planes for em, but nows not the time to discuss that.

Very sad indeed

Suicides, about once a week. Woman taking her kids along as well, virtually never. The driver is being treated for severe shock - (s)he'll probably never drive again. Absolutely sickening.

This is indeed a very tragic story.  Sad

Just a couple of months ago a father gave his 5 year old son a bomb wrapped in as a birthday present. And that bomb blew up when he opened it.
The couple were about to split up after several years of marriage. And the man went totally nuts after that. And he invited the wife and their son home to his house where he held a birthday party for the son. But unfortunatly it ended tragically  Sad
The wife survived though. And I feel very sorry for her that she has to live with this for the rest of her life.

Oh my God - that's horrific. In many of these family suicides you can see that the instigator was desperate for whatever reason - but that's just beyond...  Sad

I couldn't have said it better. There is absolutely NO justification for what she did. None.
