I swear, this whole entire thing is sort of like some sort of poorly thought out mini-series. Other than that, I really have no comment. I'm more perplexed by it than anything else.

You know, back in the 70's, Irwin Allen used to make disaster films such as Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure, Towering Inferno etc.

But NOTHING Hollywood dreamed up could have matched the shear horror and suffering of the people in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast.

God has truly been absent this week.

Beautiful, just what we need; more stories of desperate people doing desperately stupid things.

Aside from the overall destruction, the real tragedy is the repsonse of some of the people in the area.

God has truly been absent this week.

He hasn't been absent... He's bowing in shame at the way this is being handled... he feels it is about time we take responsibility, and we are failing.

FANTASTIC! And I agree 100%.

It reminds me of Sam Kenison's old routine about the guy reporting from Ethiopia on the famine there, making sure that some kids don't get any food or Snickers bar that the reporters surely have in their pockets, because "We need him to look more hungry".
