HURRICANE KATRINA DESTROYS NEW ORLEANS DAYS BEFORE "SOUTHERN DECADENCE" 8/31/05

PHILADELPHIA - Just days before "Southern Decadence", an annual homosexual celebration attracting tens of thousands of people to the French Quarters section of New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina destroys the city.

"Southern Decadence" has a history of filling the French Quarters section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars. Last year, a local pastor sent video footage of sex acts being performed in front of police to the mayor, city council, and the media. City officials simply ignored the footage and continued to welcome and praise the weeklong celebration as being an "exciting event". However, Hurricane Katrina has put an end to the annual celebration of sin. ........

I beg your pardon, but I went to NO a number of times for Mardi Gras, and never saw that.

But if it IS true, can you give me the address?  bouncy

The bottom line is it brought money into the area and it always boils done to the all mighty dollar, be it from a straight person or a gay person, money is what it is all about.

I loved Southern Decadence!

One of my favorite moments was actually a spot on the local newscast where they had a female reporter interviewing a bearded guy in drag.

She plays "straight guy" (ahem...) and asks him about his dress. Drag Bear says "Honey, this dress is like a cheap hotel..........NO BALLROOM."

Of course I have other favorite moments.....  Wink

Guess we'll have to take our sinful ways and sinful dollars and sinful dollars and set up our sinful displays in some other city.

Tulsa? Tallahassee? Crawford? Kennebunkport? Where oh where shall we go?

Since some fringe people obviously feel this way, I want to know - if God hates homosexuals so much, and he destroyed the city because of their sinful ways, why didn't he just wait a week and "kill him some fags" too?  sarcastic

This is sickening - any so-called Christian that revels in the deaths of others, no matter the reason, is not what I consider a good person and frankly they deserve to burn in the same hell they so often threaten others with - now that would be ironic!

LOL, just got back from Tulsa this morning from a wedding. Anyway, at the reception I met some gay friends, and we sat down at a table to eat. THEN, 3 nuns came to sit at the table. We had a laugh because it was ironic that they chose the "gay" table. Anyway, we went to the gay bars after the reception. They are actually pretty cool. And yes, TULSA spelled backward is ASLUT! Learned that from Blue Collar Comdey. "Get 'er dun!"

The problem with that statement is that many other cities especially in the VERY liberal northeast and western states have hosted homo-hooplas and haven't seen devastation of the likes of New Orleans... By their opinion I guess West Hollywood, Greenwich Village and San Francisco should be belching raw sewage and Hellfire to burn every man, woman and child in those towns and city, but everything's still hunky-dory last I've heard (no pun intended).

I'm afraid that bending God's Will to suit the needs of sinful men isn't quite the direction that fundamental religious leaders should be taking. It is my understanding of God's Will that destruction and dread happen in a fallen world because we have it coming, not because of politics or apathy but because of our inherent sinful nature. However, it is inevitable that with every disaster and peril our better halves are brought to the forefront, the halves that God would want to see as whole.
