If anybody (besides me) is attending Saturday's titanic struggle between the Buckeyes and Longhorns, I want to invite you to tailgate with us!

We usually set up our 10 x 10 canopy and our DirecTV dish/receiver and have a great time! There will be lots of food and beer -- though if you attend, feel free to bring your own. I personally don't drink, but my buddies sure do!

I'll provide directions if there's any interest. Also, if necessary, I'll set up a Hotmail email addy so I can send any interested parties my cell phone number!

I (of course) attended yesterday's game against Miami (Ohio). Much easier than the last time we played Miami (Florida), but the outcome was the same! I can hardly wait for Saturday. I think the two teams are pretty evenly matched, but I'm taking the Bucks!

GO BUCKS!!!

i've been there too. it was my second try to appreciate the game. i gave up. i guess you have to grow up with it to find it interesting, just like cricket.

for me, football is a series of pauses with occasional bursts of running and violence.

i am sure it is a delight if you have the taste for it. for me, the OSU marching band surely was the highlight.

no offense, r.

Oh, I'm not offended that you don't like American football. I've tried to like soccer. I've been to quite some number of Columbus Crew matches. To me, soccer is just a bunch of guys running around a field, rolling on the ground like they've been shot or stabbed, and an occasional ball rolling over the goal line.

Okay, okay... I'm partially kidding. I appreciate the artistry of the game, but I still don't like it.

I have many foreign friends. Some of them try football and don't like it. Others try it and develop the same addiction for it that I have. It's a complex game in every respect -- personnel, matchups, formation, strategy, and rules. I love those pauses between the few seconds of running and violence. It gives you time to ponder what YOU would do were you calling the plays. Positively addicting -- for me!

As for the marching band, well, Alumni Band Day nearly brings tears down my cheeks (a very unmanly thing at a football game!). As an OSU alumnus, I understand what a thrill it must be for those 85-year-old former drum majors to march down the field just... one... more... time. I suspect you don't appreciate such tradition when you are so young. But when you get older, you become a sentimental old fool!

Are you going to next week's game, and if so, would you like to tailgate with us?

oh man, what a great game this is going to be! my roomates and I all took off work specifically to watch this game and get hammered! I almost went to Ohio State, choosing Kansas barely over it, so I'm definitely a big big OSU fan (that, and being a rival Big 12 school of Texas, I'm all for OSU). Wish I could tailgate, and I'm utterly jealous of you!

We'll be there as well. Thanks for the invite, but we've got our normal tailgate location already setup. Some of us are even going to start tailgating at 8 a.m., 12 hours before kickoff.

Hey EliteCMH, what time is the game? I work 4-8pm on Saturday.

Isn't it under the lights at The 'Shoe?

If I weren't working, I'd ask you for directions.  Big grin

We are tailgating as well, game starts at 2000, we will probably be in the Fawcett Center lot around 0600 to start the party. Where will you be tailgating CMH?

OSU grad here, sorry not in town anymore and never went to the games while I was there. So you can take me off the list.

We always camp out in one of the west campus lots. In fact, we've been going to the same spot for years now. It's one of the Carmack lots.

There are two lots directly west of the west Jesse Owens Rec Center, building # 349, area G2 on the following map:

http://www.osu.edu/map/map_hi_res.pdf

Please note that this map is not typically oriented. Up is west. Keep that in mind when interpreting my directions.

We always tailgate on the grass/tree median between those two lots, right about the middle of the median, and on the west side of that median. Confusing enough? I figure we'll get started about 10 AM.

We have a red Ford F-150 (like that narrows it down). Also, we use a red 10 x 10 canopy, and a Fire and Ice grill/cooler combo. The telltale sign, though, is the DirecTV dish. I don't know if we'll be using a television, or my brother's high-def projector. And if he's wearing it during the tailgate, my buddy Matt has an old school Chris Spielman jersey, #36. You don't see too many of those.

Anybody who wants to stop by, feel free!

Same applies here for this Colorado Buffalo...I'll be rootin hard for OSU, though I'll only be able to catch the first quarter or so before I head off to see my Buffs take on New Mexico State in person...

Nice invite, do wish I could be there. Friend and I actually trolled for tickets, but the allotment to UT was sold in three nanoseconds, and scalpers' prices are not what we'll pay!

Enjoyed game in Austin last Saturday, but don't regard a 60-3 win over LA-LA to show anything.

Have fun, and...

Update: It seems we are not tailgating in our usual spot. My brother informs me we will be on ag campus, just west of the Olentangy. I have no further details.
