Well, a few matches still to go before the qualifying rounds are through.

Personally I'm going to see Norway vs Scotland later this evening. Should be a thrilling match after a close 1-0 win for Norway in the first leg in Scotland.

Any other predictions for the games tonight?

You know what Kirkie. I wouldn't be shocked if this happened. Both Norway and Scotland has an unstable national team. So I think they will win this time.

There's nothing quite so fulfilling as to see all those Scots get their hopes up only to have them crushed at the last moment.  Wink

I would love to be able to agree with you kirkie, but I can't see it happening!

Our beleaguered national side are an embarrassment to the tartan army at the moment, and our esteemed national coach should consider himself very lucky to still have a job. In all honesty I would welcome Berti Vogts back with open arms.

The fact is we don't put enough resources into developing our younger players, and at the moment our regular team consists of aging has-beens, unfit lard-arses and second rate wannabe's.

I live in hope that one day I'll be proud to be a member of the tartan army, but it'll be a long time coming at this rate.

Gordon.

Um. Bit of rose tinted spectacles there, Kirkie. It was a tremendous performance from Scotland, and they were desperately unlucky to lose, but it was a tremendous defensive performance from Scotland. At no point did they ever look like they were going to win.

But for the current side, the future looks a bit rosier. They're playing well at the moment. Good to see.

Kirkie, like everyone else you've just gotten used to the fact that Scotland are shite!  Silly

It's got to the stage where beating Norway 1-0 will be considered a fantastic result, but I can still remember when we were one of the best teams in Europe, when we actually used to qualify for major cups and tournaments. Nowadays our busy match schedule is filled with friendlies against teams like Austria, in the meager hope that we might actually come away with a win.

No my friend, not even a 'blinding' performance by Walter can rectify the reputation our team has gotten in recent years. (although I admit the team has gotten more consistent under his charge, though I doubt if we're actually all that much better at the grass roots level)

Regards,
Gordon.
