What, you didn't enjoy the 'faith-based' rescue effort? You better keep your mouth shut before Bush sends his God your way!  Big grin

What exactly is the big deal about a day of remembrance?
The same thing is done for 9/11, Pearl Harbor, Memorial Day, ML King, etc..

I fail to see the issue here.

Man, that statement was just worthless.

Even if you don't believe in God, which a person like you obviously doesn't, it just isn't a statement needed right now. Its going to inflame the shit out of people and makes you look 10x more like an ass than you already do. Bad choice.

Have to agree, I know there is separation of church and State, maybe no separation of church and Government?

I wonder if they'll ever be a moment of silence at the loss of Bush's intellect. Oh I guess you'd have to have some to lose it.

If it works so well, why didn't he have a moment of prayer BEFORE the hurricane hit? Then we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place.

Didn't he say the hurricane was an "act of god" ?

If that is the case why are we dedicating a day to pray to the asshole?

It kind of reminds me of a discovery channel program on ancient Mayan sacrifices. We had to make a sacrifice to appease the hurricane gods (by not building up any protection in New Orleans) now we must spend a day to thank the hurricane god for accepting our offer of a southern city full of poor black people...

How about praying to the budget gods to find $50+ billion in our already over inflated national budget?

There were moments of prayer before this storm hit; there just were not enough of them.

I'm sorry you feel this way. Pretty tasteless comments, though, even if you don't believe in God.

If he did, that'd make a damn good case for everyone without flood insurance.

I agree!

But still what are you hoping to accomplish by praying to god? You are praying to god that he helps all the people who suffered from this horrible hurricane but supposedly it was god who brought this hurricane on them in the first place.

I don't believe any of this had anything to do with god.

The hurricane was an act of nature and we knew it was coming.

The solution is an act of human kindness and help and that is what is needed now not a day to pray...we already have Sunday for that.

I just got a hilarious text message from a friend about this!  Wink

"Oh yippee fucking skippy.

I'm sure the homeless are collectively breathing a huge sigh of relief.

I'm so excited now, I think I'm going to get out of here now and go back to my hotel to prepare for the big day! Maybe stop and get a pair of kneepads for the marathon prayer session coming up. I heard they're in short supply these days."
