How do you reference a book? I got the author, title, edition, publisher, year and the pages. What order should they be in?

How is it done in MS Office Word 2003?

Thank you, but I tried that before I got here. Their tips were limited, hence my thread. The closest example was this:

Quote:
How do you reference a book review?

Schatz, B. R. (2000). Learning by text or context? [Review of the book The social life of information]. Science, 290, 1304.

http://www.apastyle.org/tipweek112601.html

...but it's not what I need, I think. I need to reference a few pages from a text book. I suppose it may be similar, but I risk loosing points due to assuming that. SWA TPA, I need further help, have any ideas?

edit:

If I use the above and slightly modify it I get:

Anderson, John D Jr. (2000). Introduction to Flight. 4th edition. McGrawHill Higher Education Series. Aviation, 206, 233.

Is this acceptable? I assumed that the 'science' section above was a category, that this text was from an aviation category. I could be wrong.

Sorry my link wasn't helpful. They probably want you to buy the book. Let me see if there's another... Try these:

If you are creating your document in Word, there is an APA StyleGuide add-in. The demo is free. The registered product is $34.95. It scans your document and recommends APA-compliant changes.

Ok, according to the APA infront of me, here is the order you do it in.

Book authors or editors
Date of Publication
Book Title
Publication Information

It looks like this:

Beck, C.A.J., & Sales, B. D. (2001). Family mediation: Facts,

myths, and future prospects. Washington, DC: American

Psychological Association.

That is exactly how the example looks. Hope it helps! If you need further info let me know. Again I have the APA (in my lap now) to reference for ya!
