I like all museums, but obviously the Smithsonian is the best.

The American Air Museum at Duxford, which is attached to the Imperial War Museum. Pride of place goes to Sally B, a B-17.

Here's one that my son and I have participated in.
They do a fly in each year at Capital City Airport in Harrisburg, Pa. and take the kids up for a flight. It's a great organization, chaired by Harrison Ford. My son loves it.

Here in Switzerland there are also some charities related to aviation.
One is from REGA, the Emergency-helicopter service. Since they don't get any money from the government, they have to find it somewhere on their own. They(REGA) also have a charity which helps families of pilots and rescue workers who died doing their job keeping themselves afloat and not sliding into poverty because the one who brought the money home is now dead.

There's also a program (YES (Young Eagles of Switzerland)) paid for by the aeroclub which pays every kid who wants a short flight (maybe an hour) in a GA aircraft.

Very worthy cause. It amazes me that corporations give up their aircraft for this! Sure its a write off, but it is still a great jesture.
