Well, I've almost finalized my plans for Seattle in October. I will be there the week of the 10th-14th more than likely. Anyone want to get together at a ba or for some spotting???

All right. Smile I figured as much. Thought I'd give it the 'ol college try anyway.

They just had an A.net meet not too long ago, and isn't Boeing 'OOO' at the moment? Maybe that's why. Besides, what's a 'ba' anyway?  Big grin

I'm up for some spotting or dinner or something. Your title looks like you're going to ask something like "will it rain in Seattle in October?" so I dismissed it at first.  Smile If you don't get much response soon I'll send out email and rally the troops. When exactly do you want to get together?

Not totally sure yet. I'll be bussy during the days while I'm there. I could get up there on a Sunday or Saturday. My expenses will be paid for, so I gotta see what they are willing to pay for in the department of "extra" days.

Okay, well figure out when you'll be up here and available, and then we'll go from there.

Well, we certainly won't be gathering at Southcenter again. Two guys were shot and killed yesterday evening in the lot between Bahama Breeze and Nordstrom - right where I parked when we had the Seattle meet dinner!

Seems a bit premature to dismiss an entire area because of one incident, doesn't it? I mean, look at Northgate Mall or SeaTac Mall, they have far more sordid histories of violence, gangs, and general criminal activity. Southcenter is a convenient location to the airport and has a good variety of choices as far as restaurants goes. Or would you rather have everyone commute up to Everett?  razz

Sir Stevie, I stay away from guns as much as I can! And no, I don't go to Northgate or SeaTac malls either. There's always downtown...which, of course, is a crime-free zone.  Smile

rotfl  You are so cute in your naivete. Oh April, what are we going to do with you? You should ask Shane and Tony about the creepy street walkers we were dodging in Pioneer Square. Only to see them get arrested 10 minutes later for domestic violence and possession of drug paraphenelia. (They were pretty close to an OD, they even called the paramedics!)

Crime happens everywhere my dear. There is no place on the planet that is safe from it. You merely have to pick an environment that is less likely to be afflicted with that particular social malady. And as far as major restaurant areas go, Southcenter's not bad at all. Certainly better then any part of downtown Seattle. It's a debate where some of the SEA neighborhoods fall, such as Queen Anne or Capitol Hill...

Okay, the world must have started spinning the wrong way. Sir Stevie, the Slut Puppy, is calling me naive? You do know I was just kidding about the downtown no-crime zone, right?
