Congratulations!

You have just won your country's lottery jackpot...

What is the first thing you are going to buy?

Hey, you want to go out for pizza and some sex? What, you don't like pizza?

Make more money (hopefully) and get myself a corporate jet. A converted 757 would be nice.

- Throw a party for my best friends!
- Buy a decent apartment/house and a car.
- Invest in a better life for poor children.
- Save/invest a big part of the rest.

The thing is this is a bit of a falicy. The problem is the 'common' lotteries in the US are only enough to make your life better, not extravagant.

Now if I hit a big one (slightly altered from YooYoo's list)

- Pay off debt
- Share money with friends and family
Take a year off of work to:
- Go to favorite travel agent from my days supporting Amadeus, buy first class tickets (Air AND Cruise) around the world
- Build new houses
- Buy new cars
- Book trip to ISS for a week in Soyuz
more to come.

First, I'd buy one of those islands that looks like a country in the U.A.E. Then I would claim to have found oil under it and:
1:sell it to oil greedy people
or
2:be bombed by oil greedy people

Then:
I'd have a bucket of Popeye's Spicy legs with Ted
I'd pay for COrulez's fat surgery so we wouldn't have to hear about it anymore.
I'd produce a magazine like "Lowriders" where sluts pose with planes.
I'd buy a few A.netters a pair of balls. (not collectively. A pair for each, of course)
I'd sponsor free trips so that all of the A.netters that have ever said, "If I ever see you, I'm gonna kick your ass," can own up. There's gonna be a few trips to Canada, for sure, eh.

Peter Gibbons: Our high school guidance counselor used to ask us what you'd do if you had a million dollars and you didn't have to work. And invariably what you'd say was supposed to be your career. So, if you wanted to fix old cars you're supposed to be an auto mechanic.
Samir: So what did you say?
Peter Gibbons: I never had an answer. I guess that's why I'm working at Initech.
Michael Bolton: No, you're working at Initech because that question is bullshit to begin with. If everyone listened to her, there'd be no janitors, because no one would clean shit up if they had a million dollars.
Samir: You know what I would do if I had a million dollars? I would invest half of it in glorious mutual funds and take the other half over to my friend Asadulah who works in securities and

Nice replies!

I'd finish off my time at college and apply for the job i want. I'd take loadsa driving lessons and pass driving as quickly as possible. Then buy a nice car, Honda Civic Type-R? Seat Leon Cupra R?

If i got the job, id start the training and work, say, 10 years? Just to say i have worked! Id also move out and buy a house locally with some of my closest friends, would be a right laugh!

And go on holiday, obviously  Wink

You're just setting yourself up for some obvious jokes at your expense, not only from the 10 hookers, but from members of A.net as well....

1. Buy myself a place. Nothing to big and fancy something that suits me in terms of size. I don't need a multimillion dollar mansion or penthouse apartment. I would pay off the houses of several of my family members and buy new houses some of my family as well. I'd probably buy a weekend retreat up in the mountains somewhere as well.

2. Cars. I buy myself a couple of cars, nothing really over the top, so no exotics. I would also buy new cars (or pay off their current one) for members of my family

3. Trips. The first trip would obviously be to Las Vegas. I'd take a trip to Europe, perhaps spending several months exploring the place. Then a month or two in Australia and New Zealand. From there, who knows where I'd go next.

4. Investing. I'd probably invest between 25-40% of the money, perhaps in the stock market, in real estate, and if the amount of money I would win was sizable enough, perhaps invest in a sports team.
