Got a 1Gb Compact Flash card in my camera. Happily snapping away when it suddenly proclaimed "Card Error". Couldn't get the camera to use it at all. Tried in 3 PCs (USB card readers). Two showed files and folders, including filenames and file sizes, timestamps, etc correctly; the other PC refused to read it at all. Tried downloading some data recovery utilities - they scan all the "sectors" on the card: 1 crashed; 2 failed to find ANYTHING at all on the card. Windows, meanwhile, still acknowledges the fact that the files DO exist. Double-clicking on the files (or doing anything at all with them) results in "The parameter is incorrect".
Help! I'd really like to get these photos, so if anybody has any different ideas, I'd be very grateful! Is the card shagged now?
When I lost my Paris pictures, some a.nutters suggested what could work (something with recovery programmes). Perhaps they could post in here again. But it looks like you've alraedy tried it. Sorry to hear that, I know how you feel cus it happend to me too. It does sound like it's shagged, but I hope you manage to get it to work.
