Quoting RootsAir (Reply 10): Never! they'e never been very far in world cups
What? No faith in Costa Rica?
I'll back my country on this one and pick the US (in the case of this thread I'm not French )
Yes, you people may laugh but we have a great team and will at least make it past the first round.
Where are the Nigerian A-Net members?
I'll pick Togo to be the Turkey/South Korea of the 06 World Cup and make it out of the first round. They seem to have stolen some Nigerian magic (and a great Nigerian as head coach)

Everyone said the same thing about Greece and look what happened From what I saw, while they were playing in the Confederations Cup, they have a strong side. Plus they usually play very well against big football nations.

I was talking bout Mexico. whilst they do really weel in qualifyers(not very had to we'll admit)they've only been once to quarter finals and that was in Mexico !
I'll back up Argentina though they need a new Maradona to win .Thta's what they needed last time with Sweden's defensive game .
I looove spain but now i'm realistic ..
and Germany, had an almost B team in Japan/korea and went to the finals....my bet is they have all chances to win it!

We all know how south Korea was given gifts by the referees. a country that never before won a game in a world cup that goes to semi finals.... yeah right its because they are really good!

As I said some time ago, the beauty of watching Scotland start to win games again in recent months, was that you knew when push came to shove they'd make a mess of it, thus devastating the hordes of Scots who'd unaccountably got their hopes up. They didn't let me down.

I want the US to win. Since they won't (although round of 8 is not far-fetched), I hope England wins. But since that won't happen either, I'll stick with reality - Brazil

25 ORFflyer: Brazil or Argentina have the best chances I believe, but don't count out the good ole USA!! Gotta believe...... (or at least give the appearance) Chip
26 BR076: I think Holland is one of the favorites, Coach Marco van Basten and his team are unbeaten 15 games in a row also, Germany (they play at home, and do w
27 RootsAir: Its incredible how the Czech Republic makes it to every european cup and never to the world cup. The qualifying standards are the same for each case.
28 EZEIZA: I think Brasil has the best team, which we all know that it does not guarantee anything, but I still put them as favourites. I would love for >Italy t
29 Rmcf: If only Spain could play like a team...Because we have excellent players...I bet Brazil will win (another time) the Cup, or Germany. bye!rmcf

33 Planesarecool: eh? Sorry, but 1-0 is not a thrashing I guess Scotland would be happy to lose just 1-0 in most matches

42 Kaddyuk: Lets look at how they carry a ball in your version of "Football"... In their HANDS... Get Real Thumper...
43 Thumper3181: Yeah but they don't go running up and down the field with cute shorts and knee socks trying to kick each other in the shins. BTW lighten up, I am an
44 EZEIZA: True, but in NFL, they (sometimes) run up and down the field in tight pants, and every now and then you get a cute little fellow to kick the "ball"
45 Thumper3181: Maybe that's why my wife likes it so much. She gets to watch the tight ends.
46 Omoo: It is so unpredictable, a good example is the african results..... These teams Angola, Cote d'Ivoire, Togo, Ghana and Tunisia have already qualified.
47 L410Turbolet: Yeah right. I think that they've finally run out of luck. Oh well, at least I'll be able to enjoy the WC without being "emotionally attached". Incred
