Holy....

Crap...

Funny thing in all this, at the beginning of the inning my roommate says:

"You know what would be an awesome way to end the game? Pujols at bat with two outs and two on. I don't care who wins, but that would be an awesome at bat"

WOW

That was as long a shot as I've seen in a long time. "Hey, let's throw Albert a hitable slider."

Seemed like a good idea at the time. This is what I LOVE about baseball. Astros were one strike away from the World Series. Then, Eckstein gets a hit, a walk to Edmonds, and then a meatball to Pujols. That's bad baseball, but fun to watch.

Oh, the humanity! McCarver had a good line, all of Minute Maid Park is a vacuum with the fans gasping for breath.

Oh, well, just as well to go back to STL, the Astros need to clinch and give Busch a proper farewell... Big grin

This series smacks of the '86 Angels/Red Sox playoff. Angels are within one strike of going to the Series, and Dave Henderson goes deep off Donnie Moore. Not saying the Stros will lose in 7, either Oswalt or the Rocket will pull it out.

Go Astros!

More like the whole team making a line to give him one.

Just watched the home run on ESPN.

Dude just CRUSHED that baseball. What a majestic shot that was.

Damn!

Well, if Houston can't win game #6, I can't imagine them winning game #7 at Busch, even with the Rocket on the mound. They either end it in #6, or St. Louis will be off to the Series.

Heartbreak. Pure, complete, shattered, heartbreak. I'm having nightmares of last year's Red Sox-Yankees series.

Hindsight is 20/20, but they should have walked Pujols and pitched to Sanders.

Can JCS actually get to his knees? And then what? Stuck there for life?

Just got back from the game. It was so loud just prior to A.P.'s HR that my ears were ringing like I've never experienced. What a deflating moment for this city.

The Good -- I have really good tickets for Wednesday & Thursday's games. Right between home plate and first base, about ten rows up.

The Bad -- Every radio station in town will now be playing "Redbird Fever" by Gretchen Wilson every 30 minutes from now until further notice.

The Ugly -- I am rooting for the White Sox all the way.

Incredible, I was amazed when I saw that ball go. That worked like clockwork, Eckstein hits on, Edmonds walked, and Pujol's home run. Excellent, Go Cards!
