Hey there, well it's getting to the point where Ontario is starting to cool down real fast, and i was wondering if we're gonna have another meet before the zero temps come in.....the last meet in july was pretty good and it'd be great to recreate that this time around if we can. I for one am all for a fall meet....anyone else?????

Well - I'll keep watching the posts. A little jaunt to TO for a weekend is always a good thing. I'm really busy at work right now so it may be impossible but we'll see.
I mean - I would find it hard to miss a meal with my good friend SS. Will we be driving around in that huge American car? Wait a second - I never did get a ride in it. Nope - I was with George and Naomi when it came to transportation (thanks again G).

Right now the dates are open...i'm just tossing an idea into the wind and seeing where it takes me. Wilco can make it 19th/20th possibly, AC777 can make it possibly that time too....JAG and me whenever and Curtis is a maybe for anytime, so if a few hours when others have replied i'm sure we can get a better understanding.

Curtis, that american beast is still here altho not for long, it might be my crusading Cav! lol

Guys - post some ideas for dates. I'd likely be up for a two-day deal (arrive early afternoon, depart the following evening), assuming there's beer involved as well. The $$$ will depend a great deal on whether we're talking Friday-Saturday, or Tuesday-Wednesday; also I need two weeks lead time to book a decent fare.

Stu, sounds like a good idea.
However that weekend is right before Thanksgiving Break. I am not too keen on driving to TO and back, then turning around and driving down to DC a few days later. And to needlessly complicate things more one of the early weekends in November I am in Buffalo for a conference.
Though I suppose you could do this w/o me.

Hey, what's the public transportation situation from YYZ to Toronto hotels? Should I stay near the airport, or downtown? Airfare and hotel look like $400-$500 for these two days. I can do that, but, I'd like to be closest to whomever might be driving for spotting and/or beer (read: dinner).

Quoting Logan22L (Reply 17): Hey, what's the public transportation situation from YYZ to Toronto hotels? Should I stay near the airport, or downtown?
RJPieces and I stayed downtown at the YYZ meet this summer, but I can't remember the hotel. Getting to the airport was easy, if a bit time-consuming. Getting to the spotting location (Wendys) by public transportation was very time consuming, but still manageable. Getting to the other spotting location (near the hobby shop) would be pretty difficult without a car, if memory serves.
We stayed downtown because we wanted to see the city (we stayed two extra days). If you're just there for the meet, your best bet is probably the airport.
As for me, I'm certainly up for it, if fares on Westjet are low enough.
