"Exterminate White People"

It's ironic that on another thread, and on the news, people are getting their panties in a bunch because someone stated his opinion that blacks run faster. Meanwhile back at the barn, or rather at a Howard University conference, a North Carolina State University professor lobbed this pearl of wisdom,

"We have to exterminate white people off the face of the planet to solve this problem ...," he said. "So we just have to just set up our own system and stop playing and get very serious and not be diverted from coming up with a solution to the problem, and the problem on the planet is white people."

Regardless of what you think of that AF coach, or Bill Benett's comment, this blows them all out of the water. But it gets the least coverage....go fig.

It served his purpose of getting his name in the media. Other than that, I think the vast majority of people with an IQ greater than a turnip will disregard his rhetoric as the tripe it is. What a tool.

Gee, what a surprise? I saw the webcast for this earlier, and was appalled at the fact some of those in attendance were clapping and hollering for this guy's diatribe. Absolutely insane, but in this day and age, the Ward Churchill's the Louis Farrakhans and this joker are allowed to speak in public, but this is the USA, and their rights must be protected as well. Shame that they're actually given an audience.

These people aren't being taught, they're just being fed the red meat that these wacked out loonies just eat up. They already know what this nut is going to say, they just want to hear it said. Clear-thinking African-Americans don't believe what this guy is saying, but it's impressionable youths which are at risk. We keep the KKK off college campuses, what makes this guy any different? Disgusting on the part of faculty at Howard University(13th grade) for sponsoring this garbage.

Last time I checked, students were free to choose to not take Churchill's class and/or free to disagree with him on the subject matter...

Of course, but there's a flagrant double standard. When Harvard's Larry Summers dared to suggest perhaps there is a biological difference between men and women that explains the disparity in gender representation in the sciences, hordes of people were calling for his head and resignation.

And if a prominent academic such as Summers made the types of comments this loon (Kambon) did, people would again be calling for his head and demanding his resignation. Kambon is by no stretch a prominent anything, except for maybe idiot. His remarks got the attention and reaction they deserved, which is nothing. There's no greater damage you can do to someone like this than to ignore them.

And hordes of people will call for his tenure. Look, from I've read, Churchill's personality is one of a jackass, fine by me. Yes, I know we're talking about 2 different people, but I think the point is still valid. I'm not at school, even though G-ROSE will say the wrong campus, to like a professor. The problem, as the State of Colorado has found/will find out, does this state just hate higher ed?, is that you begin to crimp the behaviors of professors, you dilute the quality of education you can provide. Some of my professors had been fiery in class before Churchill, making points that I can agree and disagree with, but have scaled back in class. Points that could have been made in class, and thus my ability to flip off a professor... I've done it... still got an A, become limited. I'm at college to think, and if professors are not given that ability to make me think, or they're too chickenshit, then the value of my degree decreases.

With that said, the Churchill fallout is a great learning experience.

Seriously though, the difference b/w Churchill and Kambon is that Churchill "said" "Little Nazi... shame on you" and Kambon "said" "Little Nazi... I'll kill you."

Bill Bennett --- national figure and leading GOP light.

North Carolina State University "occasional instructor" --- who the hell cares?

Apparently only you do.

Leading lights of the KKK, the Aryan Nation, David Duke (former GOP star) make incendiary racist comments all the time. Who the hell cares? The press doesn't screech to a halt each time a leading racist profers his pearls of wisdom.

If Farrakhan or Jackson (Remember his nationally lambasted "Hymie town" comment back in the '80s?) had said such a thing, the press would have been all over him (and rightfully so) like a pack of hyenas over a piece of rotting meat.

Don't even try and make an equivalent case between a nobody from nowhere and a national politician. There is none.

This goon is not a tenured professor.

In fact, he isn't even a professor, let alone a professor on a tenure track.

He is an "occassional instructor" teaching some obscure class. Probably one of those gut classes that seniors take to fill up their credit requirements. His claim to fame is that he is a local author residing in NC. Given NC State's embarassment at his statements and the Howard U. conference attendees immediately distancing themselves from his rants, it appears that his days of being an "occassional instructor" are numbered.

It does help to read the article this thread cites before going off on your own rants.

This guy wasn't a tenured professor here - he's a kook who owns a local bookstore who the African-American Studies program occasionally contracts to guest lecture.

Dude is 10 times worse than the coach at Air Force, Maverick.

Dude is living on another reality.

But Maverick, I give you a line from the article:

Lawrence Guyot, a civil rights leader and speaker at the conference, immediately challenged the remarks, warning that blacks can't work toward full freedom with "racial fanaticism."

So you see, Maverick, this guy is a lone wolf, even at this conference, so you're really making a mountain out of a molehill.

As both my posts (and garnetpalmetto's post) have pointed out, this guy was a nobody from nowhere who went on a rant and was summarily discredited. There are lots of people on the lunatic fringe who get on a soapbox and go off.

Equating him with Bill Bennett or Farrakhan or Coulter is asinine. But I suppose rightwing sites desperately try to blunt the obnoxious comments made by their A-grade stars by digging up rants made by some obscure loser, as if to show that the former really aint that bad after all. The truth is that Bennett is a boor as is this lunatic. Both are desperately in need of a psychiatrist.

Hardly, Maverick. I thought, in a sense, what the coach said, was kind of comical. What this idiot said goes well beyond that, I agree, but you're only posting it as a contrast to Coach on the other thread, and that's the only reason.
