"Running Down a Dream" by Tom Petty

Always lifts me. I used it as the team song for a group of young runners I took to Japan in 1990 to compete in an eki-dan (long distance relay road race) and it worked! The boys won!

However, I can't say the cartoon film clip does much for me though.

OTOH his "Learning to Fly" song and clip are great, both the old planes and the young chick in the body paint  Smile

For some reason the song Eric Prydz Call On Me motivates me, especially when the housework needs doing. (must be something to do with being jealous of those gorgeous bodies in the video for the song)

Awake - Godsmack

Ditto to that one.

I also like:

Ramstein - Du Hast

AC/DC - Hells Bells

Kid Rock - Bawitaba

Almost any Godsmack song does the trick.

Forgot to add Metallica, quite a few of their songs work as well.

"Morning Has Broken" by Cat Stevens

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the world

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

By the way, I was at Phill Collins concert in Belgrade yesterday. Quite motivating too.  bouncy

The Riddle by Frank Wildhorn

THE RIDDLE

See the moon slink down in the sky, darling
Let your fantasies fly, darling
Life is cold, and the game is old
Just see how virtue repays you
You turn and someone betrays you
Betray him first
And the game's reversed!
For we all are caught in the middle
Of one long treacherous riddle
Can I trust you? Should you trust me too?
We shamble on through this hell
Taking on more secrets to sell
Till there comes a day when we sell our souls away!
Through the mist your lover is beckoning
Comes that moment of reckoning
Faces change, even smiles grow strange
And we all have so many faces
The real self often erases
Enticing lies flicker through our eyes
Feel the terror draw ever nearer
The more you stare in the mirror
But hold your own
Face the wind alone
Reel on, love! Toughen your scars
Year by year we're falling like stars
Till there comes a day when we well our souls away!
Can I run to you? Are you true to me?
I'll do unto you as you do to me!
And we slowly learn someone has to burn
Better you than me!
Oh, every Judas once loved a Jesus
But finally treason will seize us
And only fools follow golden rules
We all are caught in the middle
Of one long treacherous riddle
Of who trusts who, maybe I'll trust you
But can you trust me?
Wait and see!
