In seattle there was a lady threatening to jump of the bridge, and some drivers by where yelling out of there window 'Just do it' and 'Jump'.
I was very upset when reading this story, as she ended up jumping!

What is so sad about that? I would've offered the services of a chain and a cement mixer to attach herself to.
What gives anyone the right to put on a show like that that inevitablty causes traffic to slow to a crawl for miles and miles?
I'm sorry if your lover left you, and you lost your job, and your house burned down, and you found out that you have to have a limb severed due to some rare muscular disorder, but please, don't block the road I am travelling on.
If you want to turn yourself into Purina Crab Chow by plunging yourself into the waters below (or Purina Crow Chow if you plan to splatter yourself onto the pavement below), then do it and get it over with.

well at least she did survive. and a few of the decent people left in this world are trying to apologize for the actions of others.

don't make yourself look like an idiot by saying things like that.

I would expect nothing less than a stupid comment from you Matt, after the comments you made in the post about me staying in Colton, You are just as soory an individual as those yelling at the girl to jump.

A persons life is far more important then 1000's being delayed for work. Matt D what you do if she was the one that saved your life when you had just been in a tragic accident, or talk a drunk person into getting a cab home, which inturns saves you or a loved one.
Something to think about!

If a person threatens to kill herself in order to get something she does not deserve, let her.
Same with people doing hungerstrikes to get political asylum (when they are common criminals in their own country) or better prisonconditions (read, more channels on their cable TV), let them and good riddance.
We're not here to solve the problems of every lowlife wanting a cheap ride.

Why commit suicide in a public place. That's insensitive. If you have to kill yourself please, there are many ways to do it in your own, private room. Who knows how many little kids were traumitized by seeing a crazy woman jump off a bridge. And she lived! one. She did not accomplish her goal. I guess she really is a loser. Two. What happens when every nutcase who wants their name in the paper decides to jump off the bridge. The media put the crazy kids who shot their classmates on the news, so more crazy kids shot their classmates. It is a crazy world we live in. I don't understand.

I agree with Matt D. Dont try to win sympathy and get attention for yourself. if you really have that many problems, then pull over, get out of your car and jump, dont hold up traffic, as most people couldnt care. I guess she survived, maybe she will actually do the job next time, and do it in the privacy of her home instead of making people late for work.

YOu didn´t know that attempted suicides by FEMALES are cries for help, in reality, did you?
That´s why women take pills while men blow their brains out, play the "loser vs. train" game or go bungee jumping without bungee.

I hope and pray she survives because now she can be a testimony to others who are thinking about suicide. She should get her life together, start over, and be a mentor to others who are going through hard time.
This just goes to show you that people can't stand to be inconvenienced and if it doesn't concern them or some one that they love, they could care less. This is why we are seeing such juvenille and insensative remarks here. And shame on the people who encouraged her to jump.

Probably because, deep down, she didn't want to die. I hope you know that depression is a mental illness, and that people don't "choose" to be suicidal. Do you think anorexics starve themselves until the point of death because they want to in a sane state? Do you think people with OCD (Obbessive Complusive Disorder) check things 6 or 7 times or preform rituals over and over because they enjoy it? No. Matt and Delta, I hope YOU never get a mental illness, because I don't think people would be sympathic to your cause.

hey thats fine, I will still have the common sense not to stand in traffic and hold people up. If I were a driver I would have got out of my car, chained a cinder block to her ankle and pushed her over and then be on my way to work.

Please do not consider that as "typical" of all Americans. There are some Americans who are very caring of other people, trust me. I think most people, regardless of where they live, would be digusted at the behavior displayed by those motorist, as well as, some of the people here.

Well excuse me , this woman has a lot of ego. "Hallo everyone, I do not care whether you have something to do , but look at poor me I'm going to jump from the bridge! " How stupid!
May be some of these motorists had their relatives in hospital or they had a life important business to do. Why should everyone suffer because this woman wants to jump? If she has mental troubles let her relatives or friends take her to a psychiatrist.
