I'll kick this week's thread off. Again, my 3 outcomes are

1. South Carolina WIN
2. NC State WIN
3. Clemson LOSE

A perfect week for me!!! NC State pulled out a victory against Southern Miss, beating the Golden Eagles 21-17. Clemson loses by a point to Georgia Tech (eat it Tiger fans!) and the icing on the cake...South Carolina wins for the first time ever AT Tennessee and beats Tennessee for the first time in 13 years, winning a 15-14 game that saw Tennessee fumble the ball at the goal line. Go Cocks! Go 'Pack! Go to Hell Clemson!!!

South Carolina - too small to be its own country, too big to be a mental asylum.

Texas rallies from big first half deficit, crushes OSU. Must they do this to us every year?

I do believe that Vince Young is the real deal. Fast, strong, smart, team first. He is really something!

Florida Gators beat #4 Georgia 14 - 10.

Florida has now beat both UT and UGA in the east however UGA needs to lose to Auburn for the Gators to advance to the SEC championship.

Get well Shockley, NOT.

How dare you tease Bama fans like that and not follow through.

AU-UGA will be a rocking game this year. AU-UA will be huge! All in all, some great SEC football coming up and hopefully things will work out for UA to play USC. So, for next week it's very easy to say, "Go 'Canes!"

Arizona State snapped its three game losing streak, beating Washington 44-20. Freshman QB Rudy Carpenter has assumed the starting job and played well, throwing for over 400 yards. We may be able to salvage bowl eligibility after all.

On another note, what did Florida do to their jerseys, and why for that matter?

The orange left sleeve is bizarre. I noticed VT on Thursday had a left orange sleeve also, but I don't know if that was a change also if that's their normal jersey.

Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs!

My understanding, from what I heard during the broadcast, was that that is VT's new uniform design...

Anyway, the Buffs pulled it out in an ugly one, 23-20 over K-State in Manhattan, KS...we are now in the driver's seat in the North, and a CU win over Mizz-who next week, plus Nebraska and Iowa State losses, will give us the North title again and a trip to Houston for the Big 12 championship game...

At the beginning of the VT game last Thursday night, it was mentioned that Nike provided the uniforms to several teams, probably for free. Another marketing gimmick in this realm of amateur athletics!  Yeah sure

We'll we only have 5 undefeated teams

USC
TEXAS
VA TECH
BAMA
UCLA

As for my Bama, we smoked Utah State on homecoming night no we have Miss State, LSU at home and the big rivlalry game at Auburn.....I think we can go undefeated, and we shut down all those critics that said we had no offense after Prothro got injured....thats a bunch of BS

Despite the fact that Texas won over OSU, they did struggle for a good portion of the game. I wonder if this will cost them in the long run. Afterall, if you have more than two undefeated teams when this is all over, someone is going to get screwed over big time. Personally, I would like to see UT play USC in the big game. Yet. if VT and Alabama win out, I would not blame their fans for being upset if they do not get to play for the national title. It is funny how the BCS was meant to eliminate the guesswork necessary to crown a national champion. What we got instead was major controversy every year. We either get undefeated teams left out in the cold, or we get a #1 or #2 that does not deserve to play in the title game.

Which team pulled off 3 Touchdowns in 7 minutes from being behind 24-3 to win the game in OT? UCLA! That must have been the greatest game I ever saw, yet it goes relatively unnoticed in the national media.

GO BRUINS!!

This exceprt taken from my school's newspaper:

-NEW THREADS-

As part of a one-time promotional agreement with Nike, the Gators will wear special jerseys Saturday against the Bulldogs.

Instead of the traditional all-blue jersey, the tops will have one orange sleeve and are supposed to provide added ventilation.

Virginia Tech wore a similar jersey against Boston College on Thursday. Miami and Oregon will also participate in the promotion.

We (Kansas) beat our arch rivals Mizzou here in Lawrence yesterday 13 - 3. What a great game to go to. I went 2 years ago, last time it was in Lawrence, and we tore the goal posts down...this time, they took them down before we could...I mean, what else does our tuition money go to?!?!?  Wink

The CU football program is forever indebted to KU for that stunning upset yesterday...thank you KU!!!

Greg

P.S. They don't let us tear down the goalposts after big wins here either, don't feel bad!

My beloved 'Canes wearing throwback Uni's (I loved the helmets) busted up North Carolina after an unimpressive start. QB Wright was terrible throwing 3 pics and no TD's. T-Moss bailed his ass out though with 194 on the ground and 4 TD's I believe. Sorry Troyvis. Shouldn't have talked shit to me.  Wink

What are you talking about Mike? You know I've always been a Texas fan.  Wink

No but in all seriousness, I was impressed with our play in the 1st half. We still have a chance to make a bowl.

That Miami defense is nasty.

Here at Wake Forest, after so many close games and Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda's we finally had an easy one, pasting Duke 44-6 in durham.

We have Georgia Tech on the road on saturday, and then Miami at home the following saturday. If we can win out, we'll be bowl eligible for the first time in a few years.

If we can beat Ga Tech, at least the Miami game here in Winston-Salem could be interesting.
