1 .. Afghanistan - The mountainous parts of the country looks so absolutely beautiful, its just a pity it'll probably never be safe to.
2 .. Kashmir/North Western Frontier - Another stunning place yet again unsafe.
3 .. Antarctic/Arctic - More stunning scenery but fecking expensive.(yes, I know there not the same place.

Seen Antarctica, and yes, it's amazing. Frobisher Bay is the closest I have been to the Arctic, although its inside the Arctic circle. Flown over Afghanistan, which is about as close as I want to get at this stage. Probably I will not get to Easter Island, but I'd like to. And the Chilean fjords would be wonderful, but maybe I will be able to get there one day. I hope!
Cheers

How about North Korea? They've started to let tourist in, and it actually seems like a nice place. I've read some trip reports on the internet, and damn it, I wanna go! But if you're American or Israeli, they won't let you in.

Cheers

Sure, we're concerned for our lives. Just not as concerned as saving 9 bucks on a roundtrip to Ft. Myers.

None . . .

Any place I wanted to go, I've already been there.

Some places I didn't want to go, I had to go anyway (hazard of previous occupation).

Perhaps a thread about "Places You've Visited, You'd Visit Again".

I'm not trying to argue here but that sounds really sad, god, you live in america, which is so vast there must be places even in america that you have never been to but you might be interested in.

Sure there are . . . but that's not the question you asked  wink .

"Places You'll Never Get to Visit But Want To".

Well, I cannot say I'll never get to visit them because, if I feel like it, I can hop on CO tonight and go . . . . there are some places on my "To Do USA" list . . . but I'm not in a hurry . . . . I've been to all the States, all the Territories, the District of Columbia, and a few protectorates . . . And with 67 countries under my belt, I really don't have any place I WANT to go that I either haven't already been to or know for certain I'll never get to . . .

I'd like to get back to Oz, get back to Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and Germany. Like to see the pyramids again. I am almost in need of a Hawaii fix too - it's winter here.

So I'm being quite honest . . . there's really no where I WANT to go that I CAN'T go if I wanted to . . . or that I haven't been to already because I felt like it. . .

Great topic though . . .  thumbsup

Hooray for grammar.

Anyway - I think what your government did to the indigenous peoples of the atoll could at best be described as "loony".

Well I rewrote my original post which had the correct use of you're, you are. However I changed it due to fear of a ban by VC-10 yet omitted to change the once correct you're to your. I feel I have let myself down. Sad

Why, are you a child of Bikini? Would make sense.

Are you of the opinion that one must be directly affected in order to have sympathy with those who are unjustly treated by their government?

Or is this simply more of your Bikini bashing?  Wink

Dam right! We should get rid of the Bikini altogether. In all scenarios it's a good thing. Think about it....  Wink

I know three people who have been trekking on these arctic islands. You'll preferably need a gun to keep the polar bears at bay if you trek there unaccompanied.

If you really want to visit some place you WILL find a way to visit that place. If you don't get there then obviously you haven't tried hard enough and didn't really want to go there.

Yes, there are flights from SYD and MEL. QF has sightseeing flights with a 747-400. Check out http://www.antarcticaflights.com.au/

I don't think there are any places I want to go, I've been to all the places I've wanted to see. Maybe the Moon...or Mars (I'm serious!).
