I saw a similar topic on beer and this one just came to mind.Does Budweiser really cut it for you? I mean there are alot of beers out there, but is bud really the best there is? Or could it be living off it's long traditional name as the "king" of beers?

Years ago, it had more taste and body to it- but is just another mass-marketed mega-brand now. I'll drink it if that's all there is available -AND- if it's ice cold ( on the verge of turning solid ), or free. Bland as Bud is, it's like Sammy Smith's Oatmeal Stout compared to Miller "Lite"...which tastes like 4 parts water and 1 part regular pilsener- Good if you were born with the tastebud delete option and like to urinate a lot.

Bud is great if you want to get drunk fast. Even better if it is Bud Light. But if you want a good beer to have while watching a game or eating dinner Bud doesn't cut it. There really are a lot of great American beers out there if you look for em... even from the big breweries. The aforementioned Amber Bock is really quite good. Right now I have a good supply of Henry Weinhard's Hefeweizen... pretty tasty stuff.

The American Budweiser is a so-called "near beer",i.e. not a beer but a beverage that tastes like some sort of beer.
It is made from fermented rice, not barley, yeast and water like real beer. The hops are real, though, but in pellet form.
It provides the beer connoisseur the same experience as McDonald's provides to a gourmet!Period!
As the joke goes,it's like "f***ing close to water"!(Making love in a canoe).
Bud is yuck!!!
