I'm a big fan of the VW-Beetles. We have one which was built in 1961. The last trip we did was in June. We went over two passes and had a wonderful day with a beautiful view over the mountains. It was the first time my grand-pa let me drive the car. Do you also have a Beetle and do you also like it?

I don't like them. Slow, noisy, dirty and dangerous on the open road.

I wish I were flying

Yes, we have two, a 1972 Marathon Beetle(It is being restored), and a restored 1958 Beetle. My dad likes to restore Beetles since parts are easy to find and cheap. We really like the Beetle, too. We've also been trying to get a VW Karmann Ghia, but they're kinda hard to find around here.

No offense to anyone who owns one but, IMO, they lack taste and are extremly ugly. I wouldn't be seen dead in one.

In the Fire Department, we are told not to go near a Beetle when it is on fire in a car crash. It has a magnesium engine block. When you put water on it, it makes the fire worse. Also it burns hotter and longer then any other metal. So if you get into an accident with a new bug, you better hope you are loved by the community, or else your going to burn to death.
