Hey,
As I am the first to return and have internet access, thought i'd start this topic. The meet is still going, half of the attendees staying on until tomorrow, this thread is for you to post in your thoughts on the meet either so far or in conclusion
It was lovely to meet more new Anetters and see lots of old faces too! A BIG thankyou to Erwin and Peter for the use of their cars, an essential part of the meet!
The meet was fantastic and even the weather played ball in the end, I shall look forward to seeing all of your shots (Finepix crew especially ). I shall post mine in due course
My personal highlights were laughing about 'distracting' the pilots, those there know what i'm talking about , the HUGE model shop and the DAS Air DC-10 just feet from us without a fence!
I also set a new record and from leaving the plane at LGW to walking in my front door it took just 19 minutes !
Cheers everyone for a great day, was good fun,
Sam

Hey all,
It was great seeing everyone (many again). Thanks again to Erwin and Peter for driving us all around. If you guys ever get to Los Angeles (or next time I'm here), dinner is on me.
I'll try to post a few rough edits when I get back to Italy tomorrow night. Meanwhile, though, thanks to all of the European a.net crew (no way could I name everyone) for all your hospitality during my stay. It's been a wonderful trip!

Well I made it to Brussels, just got back from having dinner with my friend. As I ran onto the platform at Schipol the doors were shutting and I just managed to throw myself inside one of the first class carriages in time! Looks like I am about to head out for a good taste of Brussels night life now, will be great fun (current count 32 hours awake!).
Nice to see you all again, I will of course be returning to AMS tomorrow afternoon, most likely to spend what time I have on the observation deck so I might see some of you up there. Thanks to Erwin for transport and getting me back to the airport in time for the train.

Strange... I didn't see any large groups of people today. I guess you guys all stuck to the "spottersplaats" all day. Well... Good. This way I had the Polderbaan all to myself!

Well I'm home! After a rather dodgy approach through thick smoke over Leeds, and a hard landing (or rather an arrival), and an hour dodging fireworks on the M1 I'm sitting on the settee about to go to bed!
Thanks to everyone for the great day, particularly Erwin and Peter for your great organisation and playing chauffeur to us all! It was great to finally meet everyone, I really enjoyed myself.
Yes the pilot distraction was a highlight, as was the rat on a stick. And don't forget those Transylvanian 737s!
I'll get my photos/video up soon, as well as a trip report from the flights as soon as I've got some sleep!

Greetings to you all!
Had a great day yesterday seeing everyone, some familiar faces and some new ones. AMS was a great place to be (as always!) and we all got to see plenty of action from the great location at the Kaagbaan. As many have already said, we'd have been lost without Erwin and Peter's help, so a big thanks to you guys!
Was great to have Noel and Sharron on my flights, by the end of the day you'd never have guessed that this day had been the first time the three of us had met each other!
As Noel mentioned, approach back to into LBA last night had us a bit on edge, it was so misty and smokey from all the bonfires and drizzly weather that the ground was not visible at all until about 5 seconds from touchdown! . Credit to the crew as there was a fair old wind blowing too.

Hi guys,
I've just got back from Leeds. I just want to say thank you so much for a brilliant first meet for me. It was great meeting everyone. I had a great time in the centre with Bev and Justin. I can't recall seeing any KLM aircraft, can someone remind me if we did see any? The trip to the model shop was great, I could have bought the shop. I would also like to thank AMS, for nearly scaring the shit out of us for suddenly showing our flight as gate closing and having to leg it to the aircraft when they were actually just boarding. I'll have to make the next meet as a weekend, the day just wasn't long enough. Anyway here are a couple of my pics I took (I can't believe I missed the VS B744 argh!!!)

Tell me about it, the day just seemed to slip by with out any points where we were bored senseless! As you say, missing that VS 744 was really annoying, but I feel the visit to the city was just as cool.
Can't wait for the next meet people, most defo. make sure it's longer next time.

Hi Guys
Glad you had a good time and the pics are great. Look forward to seeing some more of the aftermath
I've had a lousy weekend, what with an infected tooth that broke off and i've ended up on a course of penicillin tablets, not to mention the root filling I'm facing once the infection clears up ( AAARRGGHH!). Its probably as well I didn't go otherwise I would have suffered.
Hope to get over to AMS again some time next year. Its on my list as MUST DO!!

Hey Everyone
Got back from the airport about an hour ago, plane landed early, but had to wait about 20 minutes for the staff bus to come!
Had a fantastic time, good seeing the old and new faces, the spotter place was a great location, the viewing deck is good too. The aviation megastore was like heaven! Just put my 777-300ER model up, looks beautiful lol.
Thank you Peter and Erwin for being everyone's taxi.
I'll have look at my photo's on Wednesday as I'm back in work tomorrow and Tuesday.
Have to get the group one's up on here, on Kaz's camera I think.
Me and Demoose had a great time in the city, can't believe more people didn't stop overnight.
Anyway Thanks for meeting everyone, hope to you all soon!

47 OYRJA: Stupid question. But how on earth did you manage to get behind the fence so you could get so close to the runways???
48 Noelg: Answer being alongside the Kaagbaan there is no fence for the majority of it (just a little ditch seperating you and the runway). The rest there is a
49 OYRJA: How on earth is that possible? I thought the security would be tighter these days.
50 Saxdiva: 1. Parts of the world aren't as paranoid as the USA, thank God. 2. The ditch is actually a small canal, and you'd end up with SERIOUS hypothermia if
