NFL Week 9: How'd Your Team Do?

Before even talking about my team, gotta give props to Dick Vermille, coach of the Chiefs, for the "Guttiest Call of The Year", in their game against the Raiders. That was ballsy.

Well, the Browns won, but despite dominating the Titans, they found ways to make it interesting. Trent Dilfer was efficient as hell; Reuben Droughns had a monster day, before leaving late with bad leg cramps; and for the most part, the Browns D played extremely well again.

They did try to blow it at the end, but Tennesse wouldn't bite.  Smile

Your takes for this Sunday.

We won....we actually dominated every statistic and Vick had a big passing day.

The only thing that was close was the score, because Miami is a pretty decent team. Hard fought and exciting.

The Panthers just dominated the Bucs today! We've hit our stride, now winning 5 in a row. We're looking like a real Super Bowl caliber team again.

I love it. Fu*k the Bucs!! Hahahahahaha

Giants just beat the 49ers 24-6. It was a sloppy win for the Giants who had like 10 or 11 penalties.

Bears top the Saints 20-17.

Not a bad Sports weekend when you throw in the Boilermakers snapping a six-game losing streak with a win over the Spartans of Michigan State 28-21.

Congratulations. You beat a team with a QB making his 4th NFL start.

However, total and complete domination. They made it close when Galloway caught that 50 yard bomb but that was it. I'd be surprised if the Bucs go 8-8 unless Simms and the offense really step it up.

Which I'm not counting on.

No further comment on the ballsy call by Vermile? The Chief's season could have changed on that one.

You're down by 3; at the 1 yard line, with 5 seconds to go. You can play it safe, kick the field goal, and hope to win in OT, or, you can go for it. I thought they'd pass the ball, and instead, with no time outs left, you try a run play, and win the game.

Not only did they lose to the Steelers, but they lost to the Steelers led by Charlie "I haven't been a starter since I played for the Lions" Batch. Just thought I'd rub it in there  Wink

Batch has actually started more games than Big Ben and Maddox combined. Batch and I actually went to high school together.

Anyone want to bet against the Colts at this point? Putting on a world of hurt against the Pats, a team the elder Manning brother has never beaten before.

Here's the rest of their schedule:

Sun, Nov 13 Houston
Sun, Nov 20 at Cincinnati
Mon, Nov 28 Pittsburgh
Sun, Dec 4 Tennessee
Sun, Dec 11 at Jacksonville
Sun, Dec 18 San Diego
Sat, Dec 24 at Seattle
Sun, Jan 1 Arizona

Pretty much automatic wins against Houston, Tennessee, at Jacksonville ant against Arizona. Tough games against Cincy, the Stillers, San Diego and Seattle.

If they can get by the Bengels and the Steelers, they have a shot at going unbeaten.

I don't think they'll quite do it, but they have a shot.

I think Cincy and San Diego will be the two games the Colts are likely to lose, but they definitely do have an easy schedule otherwise...I think theres a distinct chance the 1972 Dolphins might never pop their traditional champagne bottles this year...
