http://www.peta.org/ is of course People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. I was recently given a link to a video that they have on their site about cat and dog fur trade in China and the treatment of those animals just before they are killed which may be skinned alive.
I'd like to read some other people's opinions about it. PETA being the organization that it is will of course make everything look as cruel as possible to support their cause. The skeptic in me aside, I think it's obvious that some things going on in the video are just terrible. I am partly Chinese and I would be embarrassed to know that China is the only place on Earth where this takes place but I'm sure it is not. After all, chickens and other animals are raised cruelly in my home, the United States. I guess that is just the nature of an industry that has to provide food for a price that people are willing to pay.
What do you think about the video though? Is that the worst of the worst? Or are there many places just like it.

Quoting Aloges (Reply 1): Of course this is bad and condemnable, but PeTA "working" on it won't help the situation one bit. This is what really infuriated me:
I wrote them a long email about that. How can they compare some useless chickens to human beings? I really dislike the PETAers. In fact, I go to such an extent of tearing down their posters if I feel they are distasteful. I will continue to eat meat because animals are raised for eatting. Not to be racist but the Cantonese are known to literally "eat/use anything that moves".
No, I do not approve of purposely torturing animals or using domestic animals for food/clothing. Cows, chickens, pigs, etc are raised for consumption. I do prefer that the killings be as fast as possible but I will still continue to eat meat.

Finally human extinction would be the best option for the planet's sake.
Humans are the worse species on earth, the closest form of life is the virus. It grows, without respect for anything not even himself, and drives his host to death. Even bacteriaes are clever than humans ! They stop spreading when they are threatening their own future.
The way we treat animals shows the way we treat ourselves.
