Day 1 Easter Island
Day 2 Panama Canal
Day 3 ???
Day 4 ???
Day 5 ???

Anyone want to take some guesses? I know where he is going but can't reveal the locations or I loose my job.

Well at the end of the week we all will know and there will be no way to prove what you knew and when you knew it.

The whole point of the thread was to guess where he's going, not prove that I know where he's going.

So Day 3 Innsbruck, Austria

If you would have checked the Innsbruck airport webcam early this morning you would have seen the aircraft that they are traveling on.

http://www.tirolinfo.at/webcam_flughafen.htm

The aircraft left LOWI this morning at 1000 eastern time with a stop in LOWW to get the fuel it needs to make it to the next destination.

Luv2fly, what aircraft did Matt say he was flying on?

I believe it was on loan to him from General Electric, which is the parent company that owns NBC and I thought he said it was a 737 complete with an onboard shower.... Not a bad ride if you ask me.

Sorry, I still think it is fun! At least more interesting than the normal morning show and we enjoyed a little of Innsbruck this morning!

I have to agree it is interesting and myself I have always wanted to go to Easter Island so that was a blast to see. Also did anyone else find it odd that Matt's plane had to wait until the Lan Chile plane was past the point of no return before his plane could take off? He mentioned yesterday about how they had to wait ( and this was the normal procedure) for that to happen before his plane could take off from Easter Island.

The reason for this is because Easter Island is so far out in the Pacific that there isn't a safe diversion airport. Matts flight had to wait for the Lan Chile flight to cross the ETP (equal time point) before his flight could depart. Only a few flights a day are allowed.

The trip is a logistical nightmare. Operating part 135 with long flight legs and very short rest between flights. Which poses a crew duty issue, we get around it by using 3 different crews placed all over the world.

He is on a BBJ
