Well, after a comment I made about Prince Charles' visit to the states, I learn that VC-10 was in the Detroit area. So, naturally, I try to set up a meeting of the minds.. Yesterday was that meet. Here are the results.
VC-10 is a very amicable individual. Intelligent, fun, and very nice. He does not, contrary to some belief, have 3 serpent heads nor does he breathe fire. We spotted some yesterday, and went to Millers Bar for lunch (They have the best burgers in the world, IMO). We talked about things like a.net, airplanes, and just life in general. We even talked a little about the war in Iraq (without it turning into a flamefest, like it can here ). Also traded stories about work.
I can definately admit that what I used to think about VC-10 was way off the mark. He's a very nice individual, and I'd say an asset to the a.net team.
For those of you who don't believe I met him, here's photo proof: (Yes, I look like crap.. I had next to no sleep the previous night, and was cold from spotting..)
Thanks for everything VC-10!!!!
Chris

I was confused, too. Since you both 'look like crap' it's impossible to tell!

I'm sure he is... I haven't had a run-in with him recently, but lord knows he wouldn't say or do half the crap he gets away with here if he had to deal with actual people as a customer service representative, which, in essence, he is. Perceived 'power' and Internet anonymity = well, I don't want to get banned.
Quoting Gkirk (Reply 6): What's with the cheesy grin? LOL
Must have something to do with the 'everything' he is thanking him for...

Haha, awesome. Glad you guys met.
So now we can officially withdraw the "VC-10 IS A LOW QUALITY MODERATOR" talk?
Also, how is spotting at DTW? Does one get sick of all the Redtails? I would imagine it's like being at YUL - great if you like Air Canada, otherwise...

For a minute there, I thought there was an actual VC10 at DTW.

I actually FLEW on a VC-10 out of DTW when I was a lad n 1969 with my Dad. Ah yes, BOAC in all its glory; DTW-BOS-LHR (in those days no one flew N/s from DTW overseas).
Maggs swings, it's a drive deep to left! The Tigers are going to the World Series!!!
