I got this rejected for the sole reason of "editing" with no extra comments. What exactly is wrong with it? When I get home later I can post how the original looks. Not really any heavy editing going on...
Also, I got this rejected for "blotchy sky". What does this mean? Looks like a perfectly fine clear blue sky to me...

Finally, this is a photo from a previous round of rejections. I didn't really feel like posting about it back then but since I'm starting this thread for the previous two photos I might as well see if anybody has some input. Rejected for "distance" and "overexposed". I can see that it is a little on the bright side, which given my "regular" dark rejections was actually a "pleasant surprise". Although the trees and background seem OK. Anyway, clearly I cropped wide so I can capture the jet exhaust blurring the background.

My inspiration for taking that photo was photos such as these:

It seems to me the "distance" reason isn't really right... |

Looks like some strange banding in the sky and halos around the aircraft. Also at least one dust spot I can see, if that wasn't mentioned in the rejection.
Just as it says, the sky has a mottled/blotchy appearance. Often caused by large crops or high ISO (i.e. noise), or a combination of both.
I would crop it just a bit tighter on the left (maybe an 1/8th of the frame); you certainly don't need to give it a standard a.net crop, the jet wash should be enough to justify keeping it relatively loose.

For what its worth, here's what the original looks like. Just resized.
On the rejected version I do see some band now but only if I equalize it, do you know what causes this? I can't see the halos though...

It has something to do with your editing, be it noise reduction or something else. Can't say for sure without knowing exactly what you did during editing.
See how the sky immediately around the wings is lighter than the rest of the sky? Usually caused by the shadow/highlight tool, or some other similar type of editing that adds fill light or tries to recover highlights.
