Thanks for the great opinions! Especially for your honest input as always Dana

I had a query regarding the following recent rejections.

Initially rejected for SOFT:

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r....4423bgi_17jul2012_1705_edited.jpg

Photo was carefully sharpened with USM & re-uploaded. Sadly rejected for DARK:

http://www.airliners.net/addphotos/r....9632bgi_17jul2012_1705_edited.jpg

I haven't touched the contrast/levels in the 2nd image after the initial rejection. Should I appeal?

I think you've beautifully reflected the prevailing lighting conditions at the time. That said, I do agree the picture would look even better with about 0.25 of a stop more exposure.

They seem harsh on dark. I had this one rejected for dark (also for being too common, which is why I'm not going to resubmit)

4. As No3.

It's pretty good but maybe not quite as sharp as it could be. Was the originally a tiny bit blurry? The scenery looks familar, is that on approach to Castries?

It Is.

A shot I've been able to finally get as I'm on vacation, a short walk from my home in St. Lucia. BWA recently started sending their new ATR (3 in all to date) on a new service from Piarco (TTPP).

The original image itself seemed sharp to me. Went over it a couple times with USM layers at .2 x 20%, then again at .1 x 20% which may have softened it a bit too much. Not sure what chances it stands to get in as is..

I wouldn't have though much as it is. I normally use more agressive sharpening setting than that. I'd normally use 300-500, 0.2, 0 (PSE7, USM). It's not far off, but just seems a little soft on my screen.

Nice photos Giann0. A bit off topic but KLM is phasing out their MD11 so should you want to photograph it, you can do that in CUR on mondays when the second KLM flights leaves just after the LIAT flight arrives. Those KLM MD11's will be gone soon!!! Plan a flight to CUR

I think it is too dark. This is a time of the day where photography isn't preferable unless there is actually a sunset to be seen in the photo. Otherwise I think it will be rejected for being dark.
