This was rejected for Motive, and previously rejected for contrast before that.

A few days after this was rejected another photographers shot from the side showing just the boom and none of the aircraft was accepted. Confused!

I'll assume that wasn't meant to be a sarcastic reply (would be MORE helpful than you), but just a missing 'k' (thanK you)  

The comments given with the rejection were "motive, too tight crop". If you compare yours to the other taken at the same time you alluded to (I'm assuming you were referring to Mr. Gould's), then it should make a bit more sense now.
