Hi there,
a Captain told me that he had to wait for 2.5 hours for the start up with passengers on board! He was no 53 in sequence for start up! That happend on that day the Air Europe slid off the Runway in München (Munich, MUC, EDDM).
Pretty long time to sit in an aircraft...
My worst Slot was just 90 minutes (but due to weather) so doesnt count...

When they close LHR at peak periods, you can expect over 1.5 hours to wait for a slot as happend to some friends when LHR closed for 40 mins due to a storm. Had to wait nearly 2hours for a slot to JFK due to the back log...

Not to long for me really, only 45 mins on a United flight from DTW to ORD, mainly due to congestion at ORD

"hi,
Just wondering what was the worst ATC slot anyone has expierienced or heard of excluding weather slots as they can go on forever."
A RAF C-130J from Bardufoss to Lyenham got a 03:45 delay CTOT last winter due to staff shortage in London FIR somehwhere. (The Slot Allocation Message give reason and location of delay)
You feel kinda stupid working tower at 23:30 in the evening, 160nm inside the arctic circle, with NO traffic within MANY miles, and you have to hold back traffic due to problems 1200nm away! The way the system works.
How to solve problem, if pilot wants (and if MIL), cancel Flightplan, and re-file with "OAT" slipped in the routing field where the flight cross into affected FIR........
