Hey, Bondo: Sure. Rwy 9/27 is 7,000 feet long, so it can handle many jets on take-off, and even heavies for landing. 9 is used only for take-offs, over Winthrop/Boston Harbor, since landing over the skyscrapers of downtown isn't the easiest thing on earth.

Logan's right here (of all people, I'd expect someone with that username to know! ). I have listened to Boston Ground/Tower several times within the last week or so and often 27 was used for landings. 7000 feet is plenty of pavement for even a widebody at typical landing weight.
