i am a student doing a comparison project on the brake units fitted to 747-200's and 747-400's. i have surfed all day and found little information to aid me. Can anyone help me with any info on the subject,

Hi Tuffy, I can give a little info on the cost of replacing the multiple carbon disc brake stack on the MD11 which is in probably in the 747-400 range. $40,000. Which is why they don't want any removal prior to the brake reaching its wear limit.
