Are the Cargo/baggage compartments on comercial jets (like a320,b737,757 etc.) class B or D compartments according to JAR 25?

None of both. Modern airliners use class c cargo compartments. They have a fire detection and a fire extinguishing system.

I know this is a link to FAR, but the EASA Part 25 is similar.
