Hi Forum
I recently flew a polar route over the arctic, and it got me wondering. Are there any routes that take flights over the south pole or far into the Antarctic region? If not is this because of the lack of suitable facilities or simply because there are no viable routes.
Thanks

The great circle from Buenos Aires to Auckland doesn't touch Antarctica, and that's probably the farthest-south scheduled flight existing today. Dunno whether the actual flight ever does touch Antarctica.
