Something to do with ESD devices handling.
A coating to make non conductive dust covers help prevent ESD Discharge thru the Equipment.
Anyone aware.

It's a handy excuse not to buy the expensive black connector covers. If it peels, and it will, it loses its effectiveness.
It's not certified by any agency or manufacturer that I'm aware of.

Mel, I have never heard of Staticide. We changed an ESD sensitive part tonight. As always we received this part sealed in a special bag. The bag looks like any plastic bag but it is dark in color and has a warning label on it.
