I was looking at this picture and couldn't help but notice that the cabin was immaculate except for the carpets. They are in terrible shape. The ends are rolling up and there are loose/wrinkled areas all down the aisle. Does anyone know if this is normal for Cuban/Russian/other former Eastern Bloc airlines? We'd be sued in an instant if we let them get that bad on our planes. Do these guys not know what carpet tape is? Any insight?

Looks to me like a protective covering so as not to get any polish on the new carpet underneath  Smile
