Hi. guys.

Having an arguement about how long I should wait before I begin to harrass the feds about where my permanent license is.

I took the dispatcher practical and was awarded the certificate on the 20th of July.

They are good for 120 days, says so on the back.

So here I am about two weeks out of the expariation and I haven't seen my permanent one yet.

I was going to give them until this Friday, since I am not working in a position where I would be exercising my license. But I am expecting my current contract job to end in December and would like to have the permanent certificate by then.

Any opinions and advice is much appreciated.

Now. It's not like they're going to take it away from you.

After all, they are the FAA, they are there to help you.  Smile

If you didn't receive the permanent one since 120 days ago, call the FAA up and tell them to re-issue another temp one which is good for another 120 days. They are required to do so if you didn't receive the permanent one.
This is even stated in the guideline for temp certificates. And while your at it, inquire whats the status of the permanent one.

I got a couple of new ratings in April and I didn't get my new card till July. It was very close to the 120 days. I would get a new temp one though if it looks like it will be close.

Go get 'em. Batteries released, weapons free.

They're processing certificates that got issued around Sept 10, 2005.

Did you take the exam at the FAA office, or did you take it somewhere else?

Furthermore, is there any major paperwork to be submitted to get the certificate?

If there is a third party involved anywhere in this, you might want to check with them, as they may have forgotten to submit your paperwork.

Funny thing is, this is exactly what happened to me when I was getting my PPL...it was about 15 days before the expiry date of my temporary certificate, so I called the Transport Canada office...they never received the paperwork, so I called my instructor, who very sheepishly called me back 10 minutes later, saying he found the paperwork and was walking it over to the TC office right away.

I owned an FAA test site and a dispatcher school. I found that most tickets took nearly all of the 120 day window to arrive. They are absolutely correct about it though - just contact the FSDO and they will fix it for you. You have the license, the only thing you don't have is the nifty little card.

It's an testing place which is approved by the FAA. Such as my college is certified for a FAA testing for written, Oral & pratical and they have FAA examiners working there.

And the college I go to is right next to LGA airport, right of runway 4L and over the Grand Central Parkway.

Well, they probably monitor a.net and read your blast a while back about how everyone in the lower 48 was ripping off folks out your way, so they figured they'd get a little revengeance on yez and make it personal.

Just kidding....your tax dollars at work, right?

I did a change of address and plastic update on my A&P a couple months ago and I had the new one in about ten days so any more than that might be a stretch.

Just go and get a new one. The certification branch is particularly backlogged right now and will be for months to come. This is due to the new SIC type ratings that many airlines must issue now. They are literally having to process thousands of new certificates in a relatively short amount of time.
