Quoting Pavlin (Reply 3): The loaded Antonov sure burns a lot of fuel 300000kg for only 45000km. Maybe a new engines would extend this range for at least 2000km?
Hell, no ! There's not anywhere near 300,000 kg of fuel in it when it's fully loaded (with 250 tons of payload) ! In that case, the TOW would approach 800 tons !
There's only 300,000 kg of fuel in it when it has no payload, and in this case, the range is 15400 km, as RichardPrice noted.

Quoting N353SK (Reply 6): How much does a gallon of Jet-A weigh?
1 US gallon of Jet A at a specific gravity of .88 (it varies between .63 and .88) weighs in at 3.32KG.
So the AN-225 can carry 90,361 US gallons.
This is far from scientific as it depends on the time of day the aircraft is fuelled, how long the fuel has been sat around for at a certain temperature etc.
