SIL or Speech Interference level.How is it measured.

This is regarding the reduction of noise levels in the Cockpit of an Aircraft,as in the B752 by the Windows shaped in the Flight deck & on the B737NG later versions by adding of Vortex generators & Removing of the #4 & 5 Windows from the Flight deck.
