Actually, the distance of the takeoff roll depends on a number of variables. Aircraft gross weight, flap settings, wind speed, etc. are all factors in the length of the takeoff roll. Unless you have the specifics, I think it'd be difficult to guess.

I have seen one here in tallahassee that was dead heading back to Atlanta (empty- it had dropped off the Clemson football team) get off the ground in under 3000 feet.

Yes, they are very powerful on takeoffs with light loads. At DCA I saw the TWA 757 flight to LAX get airborne with lots of runway to spare, and the runway length was 6900 feet.

A "Flying" Magazine article written two years ago gave as a reason the USAF replaced the VC-137 (B 707) with VC-32As (757-200) was because the VC-32A can operate from 5000 ft runways as opposed to 7000 ft runways for the VC-137.
