Hi,

Does anyone know what the minimum take off distance of the 757 is? You know...how long does the runway have to be for it to take off.

Thanks

Howdy!

Actually, the distance of the takeoff roll depends on a number of variables. Aircraft gross weight, flap settings, wind speed, etc. are all factors in the length of the takeoff roll. Unless you have the specifics, I think it'd be difficult to guess.

Cheers!
 Big thumbs up

I have seen one here in tallahassee that was dead heading back to Atlanta (empty- it had dropped off the Clemson football team) get off the ground in under 3000 feet.

Yes, they are very powerful on takeoffs with light loads. At DCA I saw the TWA 757 flight to LAX get airborne with lots of runway to spare, and the runway length was 6900 feet.

A "Flying" Magazine article written two years ago gave as a reason the USAF replaced the VC-137 (B 707) with VC-32As (757-200) was because the VC-32A can operate from 5000 ft runways as opposed to 7000 ft runways for the VC-137.

if you really needed to you could pull it off in about under 3000 with an empty plane.
