US Cabin Crew Question

can someone give me some idea on working for US as cabin crew?
Where is there crew based? Salary? Block hours per month?

You have to be a little more specific. There are countless different carriers in the US and every one of them has a different SOP and money and where they are located for base.

Narrow it down please  Smile

I worked for a small Regional on Saab 340's out of Cleveland-Hopkins.

CLE was our base

75 Hour a month Guarantee

$15 a flight hour

$1.25 an hour per diem.


Pretty crappy (one of the reasons I dont work for them anymore).

I work for Southwest. Bases are:

Houston
Dallas
Phoenix
Oakland
Chicago
Baltimore
Orlando

Starting pay is ....$18.10 per flight hour
Top out pay is......$50.50 after 14 yrs

Per diem is $2.15/every hr away from base
Monthly guarantee depends on what line you bid.
All crew work various routes all over the US. We ONLy fly domestic and only on the Boeing 737-300, -500, and -700.

US was just hiring FAs to be based in PHX, estimated income year one was $18k.

LOL! I'm not sure quite what you mean but I don't think our pay is bad! I do my job too b/c I love taking care of others....and while I think I would like to fly I don't think I'd get enough social stimulation.

I am at $22.05/hr now (usually $24.05/hr) flying lead. For as easy as my job USUALLY is I think I am VERY fairly paid...though I do work hard and am very productive.

And why would he do that? So he can spend $80,000 in private training that would amount to nothing more than working for some third rate regional airline being paid less than 19K a year, not being able to have a comfortable place of his own, living on welfare and falling headlong into an industry that's flooded year after year with starry-eyed teenagers from Florida pilot mills looking for stripes on their lapels?

Icelandair, the airline industry is great fun to be interested in, but certainly not to work for. Perhaps you'll have a better time getting a real job, perhaps one that requires lots of travel and you can enjoy airlines without the stress, b.s. company politics, degradation, or the roller coaster job security.

Flybyguy you are over generalizing. What you are talking about is the first year at entry level flying. Even at the regionals the 2nd and 3rd year goes way up. The fact is that pilots are still one of the highest paid workers in the U.S and that's still with all the pay cuts which won't last very long. Just like all other high paying professions there is always a level of struggle in the entry level years. Get on the pilot pay sites and you will see how much pilots top out at.
