One of our clients is running a series of trans-Tasman charters, soon & a few rotations have less than 70% pax load factor.

We suggested to them, that one possible revenue stream would be freight, rather than an expensive advertising campaign to fill a few seats.

Does anyone know freight yields Australia/NZ & v.v.?

Got a feeling there's money to be made but only in 1 direction ????

As far as I know, Qantas flies a 767 or similar across the ditch at night with just freight. It visits Auckland and Christchurch. There must be something in it!

.......and the DHL Jedi (727F) flies every week night. SYD-AKL-SYD.

Get your client to contact Bax, Emery or Kuehne and Nagel and see if there is a market for them.
