From Boeing To Airbus

Hi, I was wondering what the reason was that a lot of airlines are all of a sudden going towards Airbus products? I know a great deal of them aren't, but what is the selling factor that makes airlines like Frontier and US Airways like the airbus product (And, maybe United?)

You also have to remember that just a few years ago the A320 was far cheaper to fly than the 737-300 -400 and -500. Well, there was no Airbus for a 737-500, but you know what I mean. Now, however, Boeing has come out with the NEX GEN 737 series and is much more competitive with the economics of the Airbus products.

Could the rudder problem with the early 737 series scared some airlines to go instead for the A320 family instead of the new 737NGs?

Price. Lower maint costs don't cut it. We've gotten 13 new AB's between Aug '00 and now, and god are we paying for it. Our first ones. Brand New, failures to fill a book. We're hatin life, and they ordered 90 of 'em.
