This might be of interest to a few of the techies out there.

The Trent 1000 has been Certified by both EASA and FAA..

Quite fitting really on this date :
American 7-8-7 Roll-out of First B787
British 7-8-7 Engine Certification
( Anyone know how the GEnX is doing, cert-wise ? )

I'm not too sure. I thought that the GEnx had gone through more of its certification than the trent 1000, but maybe i'm wrong. What is the max thrust certified for the trent 1000 and GEnx for that matter?? On a side note, I hope the trent pulls some more sales!

Trent 1000 and GEnx are supposed to be 75,000 lbs.

FAA and EASA don't appear to have the Trent 1000 type certs online yet so I can't verify that's what the Trent actually got.

Tom.

(Data from The Engine Yearbook - 2007)

The GEnx-1B70 is rated for 69,800lbs.

The Trent 1000-J and Trent 1000-K are both rated for 73,800lbs, but I'm not sure that is the max they can take.

I've been told that the Trent 1000-Z is one of the marks certified, and that's the "74K" rating.

However, there's a whole career in understanding the different between rated thrust, bare engine thrust, Boeing equivalent thrust, ISA Sea level thrust, etc etc.

I don't believe that the J and K ended up being certified.

I see the final certified thrust levels average around 5,000lbs more then the figures listed in The Engine Yearbook - 2007 for each model.

Nice work and congratulations to RR on a fine job! Is the forward engine mount of the T-1000 on the fan case or compressor casing? Is the setup of the engine mounts similar to the T-900 / 800? It looks like the rear mount of the T-900 / 800 is designed to take thrust loads  Confused .
