I am looking for information into the operating costs of commercial airliners.
I read that the information is released to the DOT by American airlines as part of the FAA FORM 41 process. I downloaded this information but it is very hard to interprit. This should mean that the information is readily available though it seems very hard to come by.
Trawling through the internet comes up with various mismatched information and information from 2000. I finally found quite a comprehensive list from an Airliners dicussion here:
However, the website now reroutes to a new website so the previous links are invalid. Does anyone have any information on operating costs, especially for turboprops and regional jets?
Other than that the only other way would be to pay $300 for a published version - ouch!

Air Transport World and Aviation Week use to publish the operating expenses for each US major airline (broken down by aircraft type) every quarter (three months). Operating expenses and on time performance are be reported to the government every quarter so I am sure the data is available, somewhere.
