King Air Question

On the Collins EHSI display of my King Air C90B are the letters LIN centered above the HSI display. I have flown a few other larger aircraft that allowed you to select between Linear and Angular quantities of the FMC but the King Air does not have an FMC so I am wondering what the LIN is for. Does anyone know anymore about what this is telling me? I can not find any literature in the related manuals of the aircraft. Thanks!

"LIN" indicates that the CDI is in linear deviation, and not angular deviation as with a VOR.

I believe the presence of "LIN" is based upon the presence of a GPS, rather than an FMS, but I'm not 100% on that.
